- Tariq Peters

Tariq Peters is a PR Consultant & Personal Branding Coach with a passion for helping professionals, entrepreneurs and purpose-led individuals raise their profile with intention.

Born in Hackney, East London, he graduated with honours from De Montfort University with a degree in English Literature and began his PR career in 2018 as a PR trainee with the Taylor Bennett Foundation.

The charitable initiative provided him with industry insight and hands-on experience, sparking a career in PR and instilling a deep commitment to improving diversity across the sector.

In April 2020, Tariq returned to the Taylor Bennett Foundation as a mentor, supporting a six-month mentoring programme to guide a graduate into their first PR role.

That same year, inspired by the challenges facing job seekers during the COVID-19 pandemic, he published his debut e-book When the Dust Settles: How to Get a Job in PR after the Pandemic, offering practical advice to graduates pursuing a career in communications during a time of uncertainty.

The launch was supported by the UK Black Comms NetworkPRmomentPR Week UK, with all proceeds donated to Black Minds Matter, a charity that connects Black individuals and families with free mental health services in the UK.

In recognition of his work, Tariq was named in PR Week UK’s prestigious 30 Under 30 list in 2021. He later joined the PR Week UK Awards judging panel, reviewing standout campaigns in categories including Best Influencer Marketing Campaign and Best Use of Creativity.

That same year, he helped launch the PR industry’s first BME Reverse Mentoring Scheme collaboration with CIPR and the Taylor Bennett Foundation — a 10-month initiative to spark honest conversations and drive systemic change in how organisations approach DEI.

Now, as a PR consultant and personal branding coach, Tariq is on a mission to demystify the world of PR and personal branding and equip others with the tools to raise their profile with purpose.

Using his proven P.H.A.S.E.S. Framework, he helps early-career professionals, entrepreneurs, and business leaders build authentic personal brands through workshops, masterclasses and digital content.

He also supports brands and advocates championing financial literacy and inclusion to drive trust, visibility and sustainable growth through strategic PR and executive profiling.

Tariq stands as a testament to the transformative power of PR when used with intention and authenticity, championing education, strategic communication and the belief that every individual has a story worth telling.
