A friend of mine recently reached out and asked why I’m not editing my long-form videos. He pointed out the pauses, the filler words and the rough presentation.
I told him there’s a method to the madness. It might look messy now, but in a few years, it will all make sense. I’m building a new way of creating content that works for me, and it’s not about perfection.
I want to document my growth honestly and transparently. That means hitting record and just talking. We put so much pressure on looking perfect, but personal branding is deeper than polish. It’s about showing the real you, including the process of learning and improving. I’m doing this to get better at speaking, to grow in confidence and to show you that I practice what I preach.
I fully believe in editing for short-form content. You need a hook, retention and strong delivery. But long-form content? That’s where I think authenticity wins. People want to know who you are, why you do what you do and what you’re like beyond the highlight reel. I believe unedited long-form content is the future of leadership branding. It shows you’re human, evolving and willing to grow publicly.
This is me getting my reps in. I want to speak on big stages one day, and this is where it starts. I’m not trying to be someone I’m not. I’m here to be real, to connect, and to grow with others on the same journey. If my style isn’t for everyone, that’s okay. But for those who resonate, I’m here to support and grow with you.
You’ll see me fumble, learn, and improve. Some videos may miss, but that’s part of it. I want to show the messy middle. I’m building my personal brand in real time, and I hope it encourages you to do the same. So if you’re watching this, thank you. Let’s keep showing up, putting in the reps and getting better, together.
See you next week!
